Leadership Action Learning Presentation

Program Description

This program is designed to address a growing presentation/communication audience: the leadership development program for high potential managers.

These programs often include an action-learning component in which the group is broken into teams who are assigned a specific topic to research. At the end of the program each group provides its analysis and recommendations to the company’s executive committee.

These presentations to the executive committee are critically important to the program participants. They provide a great opportunity to be seen, heard, and evaluated by senior management. Clearly it is critical that these reports go well.

This program contains two parts:

  1. The first part includes a two hour group presentation which discusses the critical elements of presentations to senior level managers. This is a highly entertaining and interactive session. It is filled with useful tips and techniques and it is interspersed with many video clips which illustrate key points.
  2. The second part is dedicated to helping each team refine their content and polish their presentation of that content.

Program Methodology

Each team is allotted two sessions. During the first session the speakers deliver their trial presentation. This presentation is videotaped. The tape is reviewed with an eye to refining key messages and insuring that a clear, concise, and easy-to-understand point of view is communicated to senior management.

The second session focuses not only on the clarity of the message but also the authority of the delivery. This presentation is videotaped and critiqued.

By the end of the two sessions each team has clarified and simplified their message and can deliver it with comfort and confidence.
